Aussie/Europe Wii Virtual Console Gets Baseball Stars 2.

GGRRR!!! Damn it, this is a game that I have been waiting a loooong time for. baseball Stars 2 for the NeoGeo ROCKS!!! I am still trying to figure out how Europe (a country that does not even celebrate baseball as a national sport) got this game before the USA… Whats with that SNK? Hopefully Monday the Wii US Shop Channel will have Baseball Stars 2.

Never Count A Video Game System Out.

I am really tired of reading every other day that “The Nintendo Wii is just a gimmick and will lose the system war” or “Sony will be in last place with the Playstation 3″ or “The Xbox 360 is doomed”. I just read a story on a everyday typical Gaming Blog that was talking about how the Nintendo Wii will not last against the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3. So I thought I would throw out there my personal take on this system war.

Did Greenpeace even do their research on Nintendo?

It seems like Greenpeace did not even do their research on that pathetic little story they did on electronic companies and how green they are. In this article they gave Nintendo a big, fat Zero. Microsoft did not fair too well either. ARS Technica did some great research of their own, and it looks like Greenpeace did minimal research…

Myst coming to Nintendo DS first quarter 2008.

 

Empire Interactive PLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Silverstar Holdings, has signed a publishing agreement to bring the classic adventure title, Myst, to the Nintendo DS platform in North America in the first quarter of 2008.

New battery for PSP Slim coming soon.

This new battery kit will be available at retailers for $44.99 (MSRP) in mid-December. The new PSP Extended Life Battery Kit includes a 2200 mAh battery pack that can double the battery life of the new PSP model (PSP 2000). No TV Guide Channel in US for Wii, says Reggie Fils-Aime.

Will Nintendo try to turn its Wii console into a platform for delivering movies and other content to consumers? The company is experimenting with it.

Wii Selling Well, but Not at Record Rate.

Nintendo Co. sold more Wii game consoles last week than in any week since the popular gadget launched in late 2006, but executives warned Tuesday that Wiis would be scarce through the end of the year.

Yahoo Green counters Greenpeace on Nintendo Wii.

 

Yahoo Green praises Wii on their Yahoo Green website (while Greebnpeace gave Nintendo a big fat zero). Personally I thought the whole Greenpeace deal is a big joke. I mean.. WHO CARES!!! Don’t you Greenpeace guys need to worry about more important things like sog, pollution in the rivers, etc…

From Yahoo Green… The Wii is up to 10 times more efficient than the Xbox 360 or the PlayStation 3. The downside is that the Wii is designed to be constantly plugged-in and online, using power while you’re not playing.

Nintendo of America Reports Historic Sales Week.

In the first week of the 2007 holiday shopping season, Nintendo of America has sold more Nintendo products than at any other time in its history. This includes more than 653,000 Nintendo DS portable video game systems, 350,000 Wii home systems and millions of games and accessories throughout the United States – and the season is just getting started.

“PAIN” to hit PSN this Thursday.

The Playstation 3 downloadable game PAIN will be hitting the PSN this Thursday for $9.99. PAIN boldly tackles a rarely explored area of video-gaming… comedy. The unique mechanic of the game allows the player to load a character into a human-sized, ultra-powerful slingshot, and fire the character into an active, physics-controlled environment, filled with precarious and humorous situations. Players receive points by stringing together painful collisions and inducing chaos in the environment.

Japan gets new Wii Channel today.

Wii owners in Japan got a nice surprise today with the Wii Download Channel. This new channel allows you to watch game trailers, interviews, etc as well as being able to use your Nintendo Wii as a hub to download Nintendo DS demo’s right to your DS system. Very cool… But no word on as to when this channel will hit other parts of the world (US and UK).
