Website News
Posted by GCN Sean Foster on December 27, 2007
I am working on getting the domain name and new server final. It should be done within the next 24 hours. The new address will be www.gamingconsolenetwork.com. I am also going to keep the current design for now until I have a chance to work on a new look. That alone will take a bit of time to work on between work (yeah, my real job) and going back to College starting springtime, but I will keep you all updated.
We will also be covering PC very soon. I am not a PC gamer but I know many out there are. And I am looking to get as many point of views that I can on here. I found someone who wants to contribute and he will basically run the PC section of GCN.
Thanks again for checking out GCN.

“Youtube Singstar Dude” follow-up… New Singstar video…
Posted by GCN Sean Foster on December 22, 2007
I actually got a nice message from the “Youtube Singstar Dude”. His real name is Han-Beom and his native land is Korea. I’ll refresh your memories and also put up some more of his videos.
Han-Beom is the man who has a ton of Singstar videos on his Youtube page. I posted a article a few days ago about his “Erasure” video and the fact that he really enjoyed singing to the game. I actually was kind of honored that he thanked me for posting his videos. He messaged me to wish me a Merry Christmas and I think it’s only good to head over to his Youtube page and check out his other Singstar videos. They will bring a smile to your face… He just posted a Duran Duran video for “Ordinary World”.
Thank you Han-Beom for the nice message & the fun Youtube videos (keep um up) and I hope you all enjoy his videos.

Sonic Riders Zero Gravity
Posted by SonicRiderZG8 on December 16, 2007
Sonic Riders Zero Gravity is the sequal to Sonic Riders which debuted on all systems last generation, now Zero Gravity makes its release on the Wii and PS2.
Sonic Riders features 16 different tracks, new characters, advance extreme gear and all new modes!
All tracks are futuristic and some what intense looking. Sega released a few samples of 3 tracks and how the designs were. Some tracks may look similar to each other, but they each have different obstacles. Each track also has its own theme, some jungle, some water park, and some just full blown futuristic.
You also have veteran characters coming in Zero Gravity, as well as some new ones such as Silver the Hedgehog, and Blaze the Cat.
Sonic Riders Zero Gravity also offers online gameplay, but on the Wii version, you will be able to download other people’s ghost data to compete and try to beat their scores.
Zero Gravity has all different modes, Gran Prix, Battle mode, Time trial and all those that you usually see in a racing game.
Zero Gravity also has new features during gameplay, if you rank up enough “Gravity Points”, you will have the option to turn-twist gravity, either use Gravity Control to ride on any surface, or use Gravity dive to go throw the track in very intense speeds (much like chaos control in Shadow the Hedgehog).
The music is all guitar and some futuristic techno beats that you might enjoy while playing. We arent sure about the voice over work, but lets just assume that it will be horrible much like the previous sonic games.
The graphics run on the same engine the original Riders did, so there isnt much improvement graphic wise.
Story
When a strange meteorite comes crashing down from the night sky, it cause all robots to go berzerk and malfunction.
Sonic and pals drive through the city to be attacked by one of these robotics messes and takes a turn for the worse when their ride blows up, and they see them selves plumitting to the ground, but right before they impact, something strange happens….they stop in mid air an realize that the meteorite that tails gave sonic has the power to minipulate gravity. Sonic and friends now know what the robots are after, but are the robots the only one? Or does a band of thieves called the Babylon Rouges want to get their hands on it too?
Sonic Riders seems like it will be another hit, and maybe this game will be a major success on the wii!
We’ll see what happens when it is released sometime next year.

What I think Sony needs to do to have a successful 2008.

Over the week I am going to throw out some of my own personal thoughts on what I am hoping all three game companies do going into the 2008 gaming year. This weekend I am going to start with Sony, followed by Microsoft and finally Nintendo…

Games with long @$$ loading times.
Posted by SonicRiderZG8 on December 16, 2007
Ok, so I am here playing Sonic the Hedgehog on the PS3, and here i am getting ready for the Act mission to start, I wait literally about 2 minutes! How the hell can this happen!? Who the hell let Sega put this on the shelves!? How can you just say “Oh, well our loading times suck, lets just put it on the shelves!!!”
Every company has a Quality Assurance team, wanna know what I say? BLAME THEM!!!
How can you let a game with crappy @$$ loading times pass?! think about your fans for one second! Dont torcher us with your seizer prone loading times!
And for those company to whom love to decorate their loading times with flashy graphics, STOP THAT BULLSH*T!!! We dont want our death certificates to say “Cause of death: Playing a video game with sh*tty @ss laoding times”
Stop the abuse! we also dont wanna see the “looped” loading times, whee you see the same thing over and over! If your gonna do a “looped” loading time, make the loading times short!
Now, there have been games to provide a mini game of some sort to entertain you while you wait, thats perfectly fine, just dont use that to take up disc space!
many other loading times have hidden things in them, where you cascan move the loading screen, twist the words “LOADING” n’ such.
But I have a question, how can the programmers let this abuse go on? Dont they for once think “Our loading times are much too long, lets edit that!”
Seriously, stop boring us with your lame excuses and get on the ball of technology! We’re already in the NEXT GENERATION! WHY NOT KEEP IT THAT WAY!?!?!?! We have better technology, the least you can do is spare us, especially when you are playing a crappy game with horrible loading times!
We hate loading time period, unless your one of those people who love to wait in line and stand there, I dont see why you shouldnt agree with me !
DEATH TO LOADING TIMES!!!
