Today I am taking a break in the Holiday rush to do a review for the Nintendo Wii. First off I hope everybody had a great Christmas. I for one an going on a diet on January 1st, 2008. Too much food. Ugh…
Anyway, The game that I am reviewing has been out for quite some time on the Nintendo Wii and with so many other games it actually got pushed back on playing time. This game is Medal of Honor Heroes 2 for the Nintendo Wii. Like most of you out there, I have been hearing a ton of good things about this game. We have all heard news especially on the way the game controls with your Wii-mote.
So I finally plopped the game into my Nintendo Wii and spent some quality time with it. After about a week of play it on the Wii I have very mixed feelings about it. So on to my review of Medal of Honor Heroes 2 for the Nintendo Wii…

It’s sci-fi/fantasy week on the Virtual Console, and you know what that means. The Cybernators are deadly, the aliens are ruthless and the monsters are…cute. It’s a collection of three classic action games designed to keep your blood boiling as the weather gets cooler and the days get shorter. Virtual Console: your winter security blanket.
Three new classic games go live at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Nintendo adds new games to the Wii Shop Channel every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets.

Sonic Riders Zero Gravity is the sequal to Sonic Riders which debuted on all systems last generation, now Zero Gravity makes its release on the Wii and PS2.
Sonic Riders features 16 different tracks, new characters, advance extreme gear and all new modes!
All tracks are futuristic and some what intense looking. Sega released a few samples of 3 tracks and how the designs were. Some tracks may look similar to each other, but they each have different obstacles. Each track also has its own theme, some jungle, some water park, and some just full blown futuristic.
You also have veteran characters coming in Zero Gravity, as well as some new ones such as Silver the Hedgehog, and Blaze the Cat.
Sonic Riders Zero Gravity also offers online gameplay, but on the Wii version, you will be able to download other people’s ghost data to compete and try to beat their scores.
Zero Gravity has all different modes, Gran Prix, Battle mode, Time trial and all those that you usually see in a racing game.
Zero Gravity also has new features during gameplay, if you rank up enough “Gravity Points”, you will have the option to turn-twist gravity, either use Gravity Control to ride on any surface, or use Gravity dive to go throw the track in very intense speeds (much like chaos control in Shadow the Hedgehog).
The music is all guitar and some futuristic techno beats that you might enjoy while playing. We arent sure about the voice over work, but lets just assume that it will be horrible much like the previous sonic games.
The graphics run on the same engine the original Riders did, so there isnt much improvement graphic wise.
Story
When a strange meteorite comes crashing down from the night sky, it cause all robots to go berzerk and malfunction.
Sonic and pals drive through the city to be attacked by one of these robotics messes and takes a turn for the worse when their ride blows up, and they see them selves plumitting to the ground, but right before they impact, something strange happens….they stop in mid air an realize that the meteorite that tails gave sonic has the power to minipulate gravity. Sonic and friends now know what the robots are after, but are the robots the only one? Or does a band of thieves called the Babylon Rouges want to get their hands on it too?
Sonic Riders seems like it will be another hit, and maybe this game will be a major success on the wii!
We’ll see what happens when it is released sometime next year.

The Japanese press report on the chines pile of feces called the “Vii”… You know, that horrible rip-off of the Nintendo Wii in Japan… I guess they could not get “James” on the phone. Last I heard he was still on the lam running from Reggie Fils-Aime.
I do not know Japanese, but it does not take a rocket scientist to see that in this video the Japanese Press as well as the average people on the street in Japan are laughing about this steaming pile of dog turds. If anybody can translate this please write a comment. I’d love to hear what the fool is saying on the phone. (from what I understand he is somebody from Vii (James?) saying the Vii is not a rip-off of the Wii, it just looks like it.)
Oh… this pile of donkey piss is $200 (US)! What a friggin joke! Every time I see a Vii video I want to kick my PC monitor out the window. This is just pure BS.

A little website news for you… I am in the process of getting a server name (www.gamingconsolenetwork.com) as well as a server for the site. Right now things are at a stand still until the end of 2007 (Xmas is kicking my wallet’s ass). That means there will be a whole new look and you won’t have to deal with that “wordpress” in the site name. This template (black & red) is also glitchy and generic. Its a slow process but it will happen. Gaming Console Network started 2 years ago but went down last year due to server problems (the server we had went out of business.. imagine that) so I was in limbo for about 7-8 months (and went back to NLG). I will still work at NLG but this website will be my new home as well… We got 4000 hits the last week or so… not too bad…
Thanks everybody for checking us out. We need the support… Also if anybody out there is interested in writing reviews or stories (PS3, 360, Wii, DS, PSP related) please e-mail me at gcnsean@hotmail.com . I could use all the help I can right now.

This is a really crazy story. It shows even in places that you would never think that there is still good and bad in this world we live in today. Some a-hole decided to jack a Wii system from a retirement community. These folks saved up to buy a Wii for the home and a month later someone stole it. The guy over at GoNintendo says he is going to buy them a new system, which shows that people still have a heart. People also commented on the story and wanted to set up a sort of Paypal fund for these poor folks but it looks like .
I have to give huge props to Go Nintendo’s RawMeatCowboy if he does in fact buy them a new one. I’ll keep you guys posted on this story… but check out the details at the link below.

Get ready to celebrate the arrival of a bunch of fun new features on the Wii Shop Channel. This week marks the debut of the first Pokémon game for the Virtual Console: Pokémon Snap, which originally was a hit on Nintendo 64. This Pokémon photographic adventure comes with a special Wii bonus: It now includes a special feature that allows players to post pictures they take in the game to their Wii Message Board and send them to friends with whom they’ve traded Friends Codes.

Looks like Activision is going to fix that little mono problem that the Nintendo Wii version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock has. Too bad it could not be fixed through some online patch. Look out for a re-mastered disc in 2008…
“We recently became aware that some consumers have not been able to enjoy the full audio output in the Nintendo Wii version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. We are currently working with Nintendo and are planning to issue an improved audio experience in future versions of the game. We expect to have re-mastered discs available by early 2008 and we will be offering consumers replacement discs at no cost once they become available. We thank all of our customers for their support and patience.” – Activision spokeswoman Rhy-Ming Poon

Sometimes the Wii-kly Updates have a nice, unifying them. Sometimes they don’t. This week we scoured the recesses of the classic games vault to come up with some interesting, if unrelated, gems. You can fight mechanized forces, battle with a bunch of fighters in the afterlife or play the role of a heroic regal bug. Like we said: Sometimes they don’t.
